Larsen Viola
Strings
Larsen Viola strings represent the very best in
viola strings for quality of sound, premium materials that not only
sound and play great, but they keep for a good, long while.
Larson's A strings are very popular and you will often see them
complement all the other popular brands. A common combined set, is
Thomastik Spirocore C & G, with a Larsen A & D. Don't forget to go
over to our special combined viola sets that will save you money.
Again, Larsen viola strings are extremely popular at the
professional level where players will either use a whole set or
combine them with other brands.
Larsen Virtuoso are an extension of their (very) famous A string.
So in fact, Larsen came out with these new Virtuoso strings that players
now say are 'fuller' and richer sounding, but with the same great response and
complexity that the famous A has. These are reported to have a
'wider' range of timbres that one doesn't usually experience with the
lower strings on other brands.
Which is better for you, the plain Virtuoso or the Virtuoso
Sololists? Since they are the same price in string to
string comparison, think of them simply as the same, but different
gauge is all. You can mix and match just like any other strings.
The Soloists might have a slight more 'brilliance', slightly more
tension and resistance to them, while the reg. Virtuoso are 'warmer',
with a bit less tension and resistance. Viola players, you know
your viola! Most tend to buy one complete set or the other.
If by some chance you have 'that one string' that you know needs more
or less of 'that' then you can order accordingly. Both
reg. Virtuoso and Soloist are only in "medium" gauge.
